yes the hat shown was knit using the exact pattern posted. your edging may look different depending on the yarn you used. Also, CC is an abbreviation for contrasting color. Brown is not necessarily the color always used for the cup part of the hat. So CC is contrasting color and MC is main color. Let me know if you have any other questions! Happy Knitting!

I forgot to ask you, in the pattern it says to change to the CC after the hat measures 5 1/2"? What is the CC? If it means cupcake color, why would you switch to the brown before the frosting is done? I am just confused.

Hi I just made your cupcake hat pattern and the nubbles didn't look like your picture, is this the actual picture of the actual pattern posted? Your picture makes the nubbles look like a flowing ruffly fluffy connected pattern and the pattern itself doesn't produce that effect.

No I don't think it will be difficult to knit flat but you will have to sew the seam together afterwards. You should give dpn's a try, they're really a lot of fun and it looks harder than it really is. :) Good luck!
