Kawaii Bento Boxes: Cute and Convenient Japanese Meals on the Go

Now that Ace is beginning to adjust to school, I can exhale and start focusing on all the things I looked forward to doing.

First thing on my list is to try some of the amazing (-ly easy) recipes from the Kawaii Bento Boxes: Cute and Convenient Japanese Meals on the Go cookbook I recently received.

As you know, I love bento box lunches. I love that they give my child a nutritious assortment of food in a fun way. A child getting excited about eating a healthy lunch? That's music to every mother's ears!

I got so much more than I expected from the Kawaii Bento Boxes book; I was only expecting some fun ways to present everyday foods. What I received, however, was a cookbook explaining how to cook rice the Japanese way, a chart showing how to best balance nutrition, and a gazillion ways to fix every fruit, vegetable, meat, etc. you can think of! They even show you how to turn foods into your child's favorite animals! How cool is that?

There's even a super-cool section in the back of the book that separates foods by color to make your bento box look awesome.

I am sooo pleased with this book. If you're a newbie like me at making bento box lunches this book will make you look like a pro! ;)

Here are a couple of things this book will teach you to make--you won't believe how simple they are!

Don't they look awesome? You'll be the talk of the cafeteria! And the best part is the kids *love* them!

Recently I started to look at bento lunches! I MAKE OCTOPUS HOTDOGS! My son was so excited. Eventhough I am not that artistic I a looking at lunches more carefully! :)

I looked at this book at Barnes and Noble looking for a reference and I LOVED THE BOOK! I didn't buy it since I found it kind of expensive but was fun to browse!

Enjoy your book! :)

Right now I am looking around to buy some good lunch bags. Specially for my husband and me. Let's see what can I find that can be bento friendly...
